Softball Game Preview: Houston County Fighting Irish vs. Harpeth Indians

The Houston County Fighting Irish will take on the Harpeth Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Houston County's offense. They lost 12-0 to Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Houston County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally Mitchell, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Harpeth came up short against Camden Central on Wednesday, falling 11-5.

Houston County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Harpeth, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1.

Harpeth's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Houston County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. It's a different story for Harpeth, though, as they've only averaged .313. Will they be able to contain Houston County's hitters?
