Baseball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Wins Going Away Against Judge Memorial Catholic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Juan Diego Catholic). Everything went their way against the Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs on Thursday as the Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle made off with a 14-4 win. The Soaring Eagle haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Maddox Lahue made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Juan Diego Catholic got a massive performance out of Nick Richardson, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Richardson a new career-high in RBI (three). Tage McKinley was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Juan Diego Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Judge Memorial Catholic only posted an OBP of .364.

The win got Juan Diego Catholic back to even at 2-2. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
