Softball Game Recap: Lakin Broncs vs. Elkhart Wildcats

Lakin's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Elkhart Wildcats get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The Broncs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Kiah Beymer was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Beymer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Taybree Lohman-Fuller was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Maelee Katz, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Lakin's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for Elkhart, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lakin beat the Wildcats by a score of 25-12 later that day.
