Football Recap: Sophia Abar and Alex Riley Pace Valor Christian Defense

Valor Christian never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 26-0 margin over the Doherty Spartans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

One reason for the win was Valor Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Sophia Abar and Alex Riley, who racked up four sacks between them.

Valor Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Doherty, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Valor Christian will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Columbine at 7:00 p.m. As for Doherty, they will venture away from home to take on ThunderRidge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
