Baseball Game Preview: Bridgeport Bulldogs vs. Bellaire Big Reds

Bridgeport is 2-7 against Bellaire since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Big Reds at 5:00 p.m.

On Monday, Bridgeport came up short against River and fell 7-2.

Connor Nelson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three doubles and one run.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Bellaire brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Everything went their way against East Liverpool on Wednesday as they made off with an 11-4 win. The Big Reds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bellaire's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-20. As for Bridgeport, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Bridgeport might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from Bellaire in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
