Baseball Recap: Hawthorne Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology on Friday, Hawthorne Christian came back down to earth. The Defenders took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pompton Lakes Cardinals on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Defenders in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost six in a row.

Hawthorne Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Pompton Lakes, they moved to 11-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hawthorne Christian is set to take on their familiar foe Manchester Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pompton Lakes will face off against rival Hawthorne at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
