Volleyball Game Preview: Angola Hornets vs. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints

Angola is 8-2 against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Hornets will face off against the Saints at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Angola is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past East Noble 3-2.

Angola can attribute much of their success to Mady Conrad, who had 12 digs and three assists, and Cali Hamilton, who had nine digs. That's the most assists Conrad has posted over her last six matches.

Angola was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Barons with a sharp 3-0 win.

Angola's victory bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Angola was able to grind out a solid victory over Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger when the teams last played back in August, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
