Baseball Game Preview: Morris Bulldogs vs. Monroe Campus

For the second straight game, Morris will face off against Monroe Campus. Morris will head out on the road to challenge Monroe Campus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Morris needed a bit of extra time to put away Monroe Campus. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Monroe Campus 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Esmil Collado looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Elvis Roa was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. Gustabo Soto was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Morris pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe Campus, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Morris skirted past Monroe Campus 3-2 in their previous meeting on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morris since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
