Baseball Recap: Sierra Lutheran Triumphs

While Sierra Lutheran's victory against Silver Stage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Nighthawks on Saturday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Nighthawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Shaun Castro made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Sierra Lutheran is 4-2 when Castro posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Greyson Ricks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Sierra Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Silver Stage, their defeat was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-10.
