Basketball Recap: Pinnacle Takes a Loss

Pinnacle and Monticello squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Pinnacle had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to the Monticello Buckaroo. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured eight losses in a row.

Monticello's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenna Peterson, who went 6-for-13 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and six boards. Those seven assists gave Peterson a new career-high. Braylee Freestone was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Pinnacle's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Monticello, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-18.

Pinnacle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monticello, they will face off against Rich at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rich will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Monticello surely won't give up without a fight.
