Soccer Game Preview: Damien vs. University Prep

The Damien Spartans will take on the University Prep Jaguars in a tournament on Thursday.

Last Friday, Damien didn't have quite enough to beat Covina and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, University Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy on Thursday, taking the game 3-1.

University Prep hit Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Manuel Escoto, Daniel Yi, and Adan Sanchez.

The victory got University Prep back to even at 4-4-1. As for Damien, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5-2.

Damien came up short against University Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Damien avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
