Basketball Recap: Solon Comes Up Short

Solon played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees 62-35. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Bees are ranked 13th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brecksville-Broadview Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jessie Zenir, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave Zenir a new career-high in boards. Bridget Barber was another key player, going 6 of 12 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Solon and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Solon will welcome Hudson at 12:30 p.m. on December 23rd. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Twinsburg at 7:00 p.m. Brecksville-Broadview Heights is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.
