Softball Game Preview: Bangor Cardinals vs. Hillsboro Tigers

The Bangor Cardinals will challenge the Hillsboro Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Bangor is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Bangor not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 21st (when they won 16-3). They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Brookwood.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past New Lisbon 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 14th.

Michelyn Hansen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmen Erickson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

The win got Bangor back to even at 9-9. As for Hillsboro, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

Bangor beat Hillsboro 12-9 in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
