Basketball Recap: Starr's Mill Piles Up the Points Against Central

Starr's Mill waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 54-27 blowout they got against the Central Lions. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Starr's Mill found their leader in sophomore Ava Glover, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points along with five boards and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for Glover. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Grace Morrison, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Starr's Mill is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for Central, they moved to 8-7 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Starr's Mill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-47 defeat against Marietta on the 4th. As for Central, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Central Lions duke it out with the Jonesboro Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
