Volleyball Game Preview: Fremont Silverwolves vs. Syracuse Titans

Fremont hasn't had much luck against Syracuse recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Silverwolves will look to defend their home court against the Titans at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Fremont is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Weber.

Fremont was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Syracuse faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Titans fell 3-1 to the Phoenix. The Titans' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Syracuse was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Farmington work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-16, 26-28, 25-22.

Fremont will have to contain Ian Sprague as he made an impact in Syracuse's last game. He had 13 digs. Sprague has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times he's played.

Syracuse's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
