Basketball Recap: Faith Baptist Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Faith Baptist Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 52-42 to the Savannah Athletic Association Jaguars.

When it comes to explaining why Faith Baptist Christian Academy lost, don't look at Emree Mattingly. Despite the final result, she posted ten points and four steals. Mattingly is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaura Hutton, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Savannah Athletic Association got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Santos out in front who went 8 of 16 on her way to 20 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Violet Harden, who had 15 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Savannah Athletic Association, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-53 loss against The Habersham School on the 20th. As for Savannah Athletic Association, they will head out to take on Patrick Henry Academy at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th.
