Recap: Granville Central Panthers vs. Northern Durham Knights
The Granville Central Panthers were the 69-47 winner over the Northern Durham Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Granville Central fell 61-51 to Northern Durham on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Granville Central has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Granville Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Alston. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Alston scored a full 31.4% of Granville Central's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Alek Jenkins, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Granville Central were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Granville Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Northern Durham, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.
