Baseball Recap: Rigby Sets Scoring Season-High Against Canyon Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rigby). They blew past the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks 16-6 on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Rigby got a massive performance out of Kace Stapleton, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs Stapleton has posted since back in March. DJ Boudrero was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Rigby was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Rigby's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Canyon Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Coincidentally, Rigby and Canyon Ridge will both be playing Highland the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Riverhawks will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
