Baseball Recap: Piketon Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Piketon's offense. They lost 11-0 to the South Webster Jeeps on Saturday. The Redstreaks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jeeps apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Piketon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15-1. As for South Webster, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Piketon will head out to square off against Lynchburg-Clay at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redstreaks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 11.5 runs per game this season. As for South Webster, they will be playing at home against Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Jeeps 2.3, the Indians 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
