Normal West and Urbana are an even 3-3-4 against one another since September of 2015, but likely not for long. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Urbana took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Normal West, who comes in off a win.

Normal West barely beat Centennial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 7-0 victory on Tuesday. Normal West might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Urbana didn't have quite enough to beat Normal Community on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, Urbana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Normal Community are ranked 40th).

Emir Martinez and Fidany Mukadi scored both of Urbana's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

The win snapped Normal West's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 14-3-1 record. As for Urbana, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-6-2.

Normal West beat Urbana by a goal in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
