Baseball Recap: Eastchester Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eastchester can now relate to. They fell just short of the Walter Panas Panthers by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The shutout was out of character for the Eagles seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

This is the second loss in a row for Eastchester and nudges their season record down to 7-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Walter Panas, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4.

Eastchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Walter Panas, they will welcome Rye at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.8, the Garnets 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
