Baseball Game Preview: Pittsburg Pirates vs. Pleasant Grove Hawks

Pittsburg hasn't had much luck against Pleasant Grove recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Pittsburg turned things around against Mabank on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Lane Hall, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove got the win against Sulphur Springs on Friday by a conclusive 8-1. Considering the Hawks have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Pittsburg's record now sits at 6-8. As for Pleasant Grove, their record is now 18-2.

Pittsburg might still be hurting after the 16-4 loss they got from Pleasant Grove in their previous meeting on March 3rd. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
