Basketball Recap: Phoenix Christian Takes a Loss

Phoenix Christian played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Fountain Hills Falcons, falling 52-31. The Cougars have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

It was another big night for Seilah Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds for Fountain Hills. Those nine boards gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Lewis, who posted nine points.

Phoenix Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Fountain Hills, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Phoenix Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 37-31 defeat against BASIS Phoenix on the 16th. As for Fountain Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-14 victory against Veritas Prep on the 14th.
