Basketball Recap: East Falls Despite Big Games from Aaron Britford and Daeshawn Fiore

If East was feeling good fresh off their 72-25 takedown of Whetstone last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The East Tigers fell to the Linden-McKinley Panthers 59-54. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 56-37.

East's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Daeshawn Fiore, who posted 16 points, and Aaron Britford, who had 17 points. The contest was Fiore's ninth in a row with at least ten points.

East's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Linden-McKinley, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.

East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-61 defeat against Northwest on the 18th. As for Linden-McKinley, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Linden-McKinley Panthers face off against the Columbus International Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Linden-McKinley is facing Columbus International at the right time seeing as Columbus International is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
