Football Game Preview: Sycamore Aviators vs. Lakota West Firebirds

Sycamore is 1-6 against Lakota West since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Aviators will head out to square off against the Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. Sycamore has given up an average of 43.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Sycamore took a blow against Oak Hills, falling 48-10. While losing is never fun, the Aviators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Highlanders are ranked 140th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakota West). They breezed past Colerain to the tune of 48-9 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won seven in a row.

Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Lakota West, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Sycamore was taken down by Lakota West 52-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Aviators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
