Preview: Howardsville Christian Eagles vs. Kalamazoo HomeSchool Cougars
The Howardsville Christian Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Kalamazoo HomeSchool Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Howardsville Christian's defense has only allowed 22.8 points per game this season, so Kalamazoo HomeSchool's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Even though Howardsville Christian has not done well against Our Lady of the Lake Catholic recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Howardsville Christian strolled past Our Lady of the Lake Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 41-26. The victory was just what Howardsville Christian needed coming off of a 44-24 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Kalamazoo HomeSchool made easy work of Battle Creek Academy on Tuesday and carried off a 50-25 victory. Given Kalamazoo HomeSchool's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Battle Creek Academy is ranked 452nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Howardsville Christian pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Kalamazoo HomeSchool, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Howardsville Christian came up short against Kalamazoo HomeSchool when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 47-42. Can Howardsville Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
