Baseball Recap: Christ School Find Success

The Christ School Greenies earned a 9-4 win over the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Greenies.

Patrick Robichaud looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Christ School's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 6-13-1 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Christ School let Jonathan Reece and Wells Alderman run wild. Reece went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, while Alderman went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Reece has become a key player for Christ School: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 5-13-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Garin Gosnell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Christ School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Christ School's record now sits at 8-14-1. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7.

Looking ahead, Christ School will face off against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Greenies will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, they will host West-Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
