Football Game Preview: Southern Wayne Saints vs. Fike Golden Demons + How To Watch

Southern Wayne is on an eight-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Fike a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Southern Wayne Saints will be playing at home against the Fike Golden Demons at 7:00 p.m. Southern Wayne has given up an average of 43.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Southern Wayne is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Northern Nash on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Saints had to suffer through a 51-7 loss at the hands of the Knights. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-0.

Meanwhile, Fike scored the most points they've had this season last Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a hard 68-54 fall against Southern Nash. While losing is never fun, the Golden Demons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Firebirds are ranked 97th).

Southern Wayne will have to contain Sam Finch as he made an impact in Fike's last game. He threw for 401 yards and six touchdowns, and also rushed for 115 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries. Demari Lewis was Finch's top target, picking up 139 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Southern Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Fike, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Southern Wayne took a serious blow against Fike in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 63-0.
