Andrean triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Maddie Walton

Recap: Andrean Fighting 59ers vs. Kankakee Valley Kougars

The Andrean Fighting 59ers entered their tilt with the Kankakee Valley Kougars with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Andrean walked away with a 32-25 victory over Kankakee Valley on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Andrean, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Maddie Walton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Andrean's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlee Evans, who scored four points along with two steals.

Kankakee Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Olivia Plummer and Brooke Swart. Plummer scored seven points along with nine rebounds, while Swart scored ten points along with two steals.

Andrean's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Kankakee Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Andrean on the road again on Friday and play against Chesterton at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Chesterton will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Kankakee Valley will take on Rensselaer Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rensselaer Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
