Basketball Recap: Burke Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Burke extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jordan Nelson. The Burke Bulldogs walked away with a 53-44 victory over the Andrews Yellowjackets on Friday thanks in part to Nelson, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 15 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Juel Mack, who posted nine points and five steals. He is becoming a predictor of Burke's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 9-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).

When it comes to explaining why Andrews lost, don't look at Vincent Rhue. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points. Chris Stewart was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Burke's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Andrews, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
