Softball Game Preview: Union City Bears vs. Seneca Bobcats

Union City has gone 6-1 against Seneca recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bears will welcome the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Union City came out on top against Youngsville on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Bears put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 win. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by exactly ten runs.

Grace Chapman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Tingley, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Union City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Seneca never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over North East. The Bobcats' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

The win made it two in a row for Union City and bumps their season record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Seneca, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
