Volleyball Game Preview: Mogadore Wildcats vs. Springfield Tigers

After both having extra time off, the Mogadore Wildcats and the Springfield Tigers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mogadore is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Mogadore won the last time they faced Garfield and Gracie Shull did her part to make sure it happened again. The Wildcats blew past the G-Men 3-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Shull, who had 15 digs and four aces. She has been hot, having posted 14 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Mogadore's got stronger as the match went on, holding Garfield to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-22, 25-14.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Springfield's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They came up short against Western Reserve, falling 3-0.

Springfield was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 25-20.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Mogadore, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Mogadore has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Springfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.9 aces.
