Volleyball Recap: West Carroll Takes a Loss

West Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Galena Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Galena scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18.

Courtney Knop paced West Carroll's offense, picking up three kills. Knop got some help from Audri Wilcox and her eight assists.

West Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Galena, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2.

Coming up, West Carroll will take on Scales Mound at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Galena, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Monmouth-Roseville on the 4th.
