Granada blew Dougherty Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Dougherty Valley got their revenge. The Matadors fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Matadors have suffered against the Wildcats since April 20, 2017.

Kamryn Brannon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Delaney Aumua was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Mitre, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
