Baseball Recap: St. Patrick Comes Up Short

After flying high against Picayune last Tuesday, St. Patrick came back down to earth. The St. Patrick Fighting Irish fell just short of the Picayune Maroon Tide by a score of 10-9 on Friday. The Fighting Irish were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Maroon Tide earlier this season, when they won 22-10.

Trey Zorn and Jasper Moran did some serious damage despite the final result: Zorn scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Moran went 2-for-4 with one home run.

St. Patrick's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Picayune, their record now sits at 7-1.

Looking ahead, St. Patrick will host George County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Patrick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season. As for Picayune, they will head out on the road to face off against Poplarville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
