Basketball Recap: Braden River Pirates vs. Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palmetto, the Braden River Pirates were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They managed a 32-26 win over Families Instructing Students HomeSchool. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Braden River also won the last time the pair played last Thursday.
Emily Dalton was her usual excellent self, scoring 11 points.
Despite the loss, Families Instructing Students HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from Melody Lee, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Lee has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Makayla Calzada, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Braden River's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.
Braden River will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northeast has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to square off against the Blazers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
