Recap: Lake Travis Cavaliers vs. Johnson Jaguars
After a string of five wins, the Lake Travis Cavaliers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Johnson by a score of 57-54. Lake Travis was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Johnson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Lake Travis had strong showings from Chas Biegel, who scored 24 points, and Adrian Mathis, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Biegel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Thomas, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Lake Travis' defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 28-5. As for Johnson, their victory bumped their record up to 25-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Travis will take on Akins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lake Travis is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Texas (they are ranked 15th, while Akins is ranked 573rd). As for Johnson, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Del Valle at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Del Valle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
