Baseball Game Preview: Ferndale Wildcats vs. St. Bernard's Crusaders

For the second straight game, Ferndale will face off against St. Bernard. The Wildcats will head out to challenge the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ferndale will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Ferndale proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out St. Bernard's 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since March 25th.

For St. Bernard's part, Tyler Maples was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Mason Noel also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Ferndale pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for St. Bernard's, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 13-5.
