Hannah Shamblin put up the most strikeouts she's had since back in April on Monday. She struck out 11 batters over 11 innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 25 consecutive appearances.

Shamblin's effort led Hoover over Independence and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Huskies are a perfect 8-0 against the Patriots going back to April of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
