Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Somerset Academy

Somerset Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Sunset Knights as the Somerset Academy Panthers made off with a 9-2 win.

Somerset Academy got a great performance from Kareem Amer as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Amer a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Alan Sanchez was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Sanchez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Sierra, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Somerset Academy's record is now 3-0. As for Sunset, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy will challenge American Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sunset, they will take on Monsignor Pace at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
