Softball Game Preview: Heritage Hawks vs. Blue Ridge Knights

The Heritage Hawks will take on the Blue Ridge Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Heritage has struggled recently with 17 losses in a row, while Blue Ridge will arrive with three straight victories.

Heritage couldn't beat Okaw Valley on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fourth inning. The Hawks came up short against the Timberwolves, falling 24-6.

Jayden Schrock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and earned one run and three stolen bases. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Peyton Curry-Varner was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Blue Ridge got themselves on the board against Okaw Valley on Thursday, but Okaw Valley never followed suit. They blew past the Timberwolves 10-0. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Lillian Enger was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three runs. Another player making a difference was Ellie Hayward, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and four RBI.

Blue Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Blue Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
