Volleyball Recap: Neumann Celtics vs. Bishop Verot Vikings
After flying high against Southwest Florida Christian last Tuesday, Neumann came back down to earth. The Neumann Celtics fell just short of the Bishop Verot Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Despite the defeat, Neumann had strong showings from Nikki Reinert, who had seven digs, and Giuliana Batelli, who had 15 kills, 11 digs, and a block. That's the most aces Batelli has posted since back in August.
Even though they lost, Neumann was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive games.
Neumann has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Bishop Verot, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
