Basketball Recap: Porter Spartans vs. Willis Wildkats
Porter lost a close one when they played last Friday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Monday was a bit more commanding. They came up short against the Willis Wildkats, falling 62-42. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildkats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.
Willis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rondell Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Day, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Porter's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Willis, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Porter will welcome Conroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Willis, they will challenge Paetow on Thursday.
