Softball Game Preview: Reardan Screaming Eagles vs. Chewelah Cougars

For the second straight game, Reardan will face off against Chewelah. The Screaming Eagles will head out to take on the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Reardan has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Reardan fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Chewelah on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 16-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

For Chewelah's part, Faith Knight was a standout: she scored four runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those seven stolen bases gave Knight a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tarynn Carlson, who scored two runs and stole six bases while going 2-for-3.

Chewelah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive games.

Chewelah's victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Reardan, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6.
