Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Gahr

Gahr waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Warren Bears get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 9-1 victory on Wednesday.

The result came thanks to Juan Carlos Munoz's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bryce Morrison (USC), who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Guangorena (CSUN), who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and three runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Gahr lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Gahr's record now sits at 13-9-1. As for Warren, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gahr will welcome Downey at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gladiators 2.4, the Vikings 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Warren, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Torrance at 10:00 a.m.
