Basketball Recap: Walnut Grove Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Walnut Grove can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past the Madison County Red Raiders with a 59-55 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 69th).

Walnut Grove's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 3-18. As for Madison County, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walnut Grove has already played their next contest (against Cedar Shoals), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Madison County and East Forsyth will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
