Volleyball Recap: Dimond Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Dimond came tearing into Thursday's match with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Wasilla Warriors by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Lynx, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Dimond had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-20.

Anayah Sila paced Dimond's offense, picking up 11 kills. Sila got some help from Puao Asailevai and her 26 assists. Nia Cook controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Wasilla had strong showings from Marissa Monroe, who had 20 digs and two assists, and Paylinh Luangsaysana, who had nine digs and four aces. Monroe is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Ava Bonadurer also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Dimond's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Wasilla, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Dimond wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Grace Christian on the 26th. As for Wasilla, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 tie against Nome-Beltz on the 26th.
