Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Soddy Daisy

Soddy Daisy gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the South-Doyle Cherokees. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Cherokees on Friday, they had to take a 1-0 loss.

Soddy Daisy's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Hickey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Hickey has posted since back in March.

Soddy Daisy pushed their record up to 22-13-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for South-Doyle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-18-1.

As of now, neither Soddy Daisy nor the Cherokees have any future games scheduled.
