Deep Creek came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 51-20 win over the Indian River Braves. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 25 points or more this season.

Deep Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan Herbert, who posted 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Herbert is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cherish Brehon, who scored ten points and four steals.

Deep Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Deep Creek pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points over those games. As for Indian River, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Deep Creek will square off against Hickory at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Deep Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season. As for Indian River, they will take on Oscar Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
