 Rancho Bernardo can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent  match  on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the La Costa Canyon Mavericks  an   8-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for Rancho Bernardo, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 The result came thanks to  Riley Carroll's shutout, as she gave up just two  hits.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Mia Cascio, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Kendall Luna de la Fuente, who  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI.
 Rancho Bernardo's victory was  their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 9-4-1. As for La Costa Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Bernardo will  square off against Del Norte at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for La Costa Canyon, they will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against Mt. Carmel at 3:30  p.m. The pair have allowed few  runs on average, (Mt. Carmel: 4.1, La Costa Canyon: 3.1) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
